Grey Bruce OPP laid some impaired driving charges around the long weekend,
Police say on Thursday, a local person was charged with impaired driving after their vehicle got stuck in the sand at Sauble Beach
OPP say just before 9 at night, they responded to a vehicle that was stuck on some rocks in the sand.
OPP say they arrested the 19 year old driver from South Bruce Peninsula for impaired driving. According to OPP, a breath test recorded readings over twice the legal limit of 80 milligrams (mgs) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
OPP also charged a Meaford man with impaired driving.
They say they were called at about 2 Saturday morning (May 22) to a two-vehicle collision on Miller Street in Meaford.
Police say they arrested and charged a 22 year old Meaford man after he failed a roadside screening test.
Meanwhile, on Sunday night (May 23rd) OPP say they stopped a vehicle doing over 170 km/h in a posted 80 km/hr zone on Highway 10, south of Chatsworth.
According to OPP, the involved vehicle stopped over a crest of a hill but then backed up and collided with a police cruiser.
Police say there were no injuries. The driver was arrested for impaired driving by drug and transported to a police station for assessment by a Drug Recognition Expert.
A 22 year old woman from Leeds-Lansdowne Township faces charges including driving while impaired by drugs and assaulting a police officer.
OPP also ticketed a 30 year old from Richmond Hill and a 26 year old from outside the region for stunt driving on Highway 6, as well as a teen from Grey Highlands and a teen from Meaford for stunt driving on Highway 26.
