In the wake of the Province’s Roadmap To Reopening announcement, some areas and facilities will re-open in Muskoka Saturday.
In Huntsville, they include Conroy Park, Lions Lookout Field, Rotary Skateboard Park, Municipal Tennis Courts, Freedom Dog Park, and the Soccer Fields at McCulley Robertson Recreation Park. For more details click here.
In Gravenhurst, the Town Tennis Courts at Gull Lake Rotary Park and Muskoka Bay Park will be open *note – only one net is up at Muskoka Bay Park as the second court is in the process of being transitioned into a pickleball court. The Youth Skate Park, Muskoka Wharf Basketball Court, and Frisbee Golf will also be open, as will boat launches and public bathroom facilities. For more details, click here.
In Bracebridge, Municipal boat launches are open. All boat launch users are asked to comply with all posted signage and to maintain appropriate physical distancing. Municipal parks and trails remain open and outdoor facilities including sports fields, the skate park, volleyball courts, disc golf course, picnic areas, and picnic shelters, will be reopened.
Although tennis courts are permitted to reopen, they remain closed at Kerr Park and Kelvin Grove Park due to ongoing rehabilitation projects.
The Municipal Office, Sportsplex, Memorial Arena, Library, and Fire Station #1 will remain closed to the public until further notice. For more details, click here
In Muskoka Lakes, Municipal boat launches remain open at this time. Trails remain open for walk through access, but residents are reminded to maintain the safe physical distance of at least two metres apart from others. Outdoor recreational amenities such as sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, beaches, skateboard parks, picnic areas and park shelters are open. Please be advised that these amenities are not being sanitized. The public is asked to follow provincial guidelines on physical distancing by maintaining a minimum of 2 meters between individuals and wash or sanitize your hands before and after each use. All Township public washrooms remain open.
