Orillia council has chosen which of two companies it wants to work with, to redevelop the Front Street Plaza area which is owned by the city.
Two developers submitted their vision of what they would do with the land and both include residential and commercial components.
The city is not divulging which plan it prefers because they still need to negotiate the sale of the property.
A news release says if the negotiations are successful they will announce details within the next few months.
