Baffert Banished
Trainer Bob Baffert was suspended from entering horses at New York racetracks, pending an investigation into Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit’s failed postrace drug test.
Baffert will not be allowed to stable any horses at 3 New York tracks or run any of his horses at the New York Racing Association’s tracks.
The ban includes races at Belmont Park, with the Belmont Stakes coming up June 5th.
Baffert had not committed to entering any horses in the 3rd leg of the Triple Crown but had many in consideration for other races on Belmont Stakes day.
February 2022
It’s 9 months away, but February of 2022 will be an active time for major sporting events in the region.
The Port Elgin Chrysler ’22 Ontario Tankard presented by Bruce Power will be staged at the Plex in Port Elgin February 9th-13th.
Plus, sources relate another significant sporting event will be hosted in the region only 6 days after the Tankard concludes.
However, local officials connected to both the sport and the reported event have declined comment or confirmation.

The annual Tommy Cooper Award will be announced on tomorrow morning on 560 CFOS

The Tommy Cooper award has been presented annually by CFOS & The Sun Times since 1959 to someone who has contributed significantly to rural agricultural life in Grey & Bruce County.

The Owen Sound Fastpitch Association will be the host organization for the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Under 23 Elimination Tournament.
The OASA U23 will be conducted at Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound July 9th-11th weekend.
