Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

Dates are being circled for the Ontario Hockey League activities.
The Priority Selection is 3 weekends away, slotted for June 4th & 5th.
You talk about a crapshoot, that will be the Priority Selection this year with a full season of mostly un-scouted prospects out there.
The Owen Sound Attack will pick in their almost traditional 8th slot and similar to last year when they truly wanted Bryce McConnell Barker, it’s likely their selection will be gone before they pick at # 8.
A few days later on June 9th, the Under-18 Priority Selection will be conducted. I’m not sure what Owen Sound’s level of participation will be with this draft, albeit, they’ve been among the most successful in this process in the brief history of the affair
And finally, the annual CHL Import Draft is Wednesday, June 30th. The word is the Attack already have their targeted player and an agreement is in place
But more significantly than those dates, the OHL announced last week that training camps will open on Saturday, September 4th and a 68 game schedule will begin on October 7th
Good for the OHL for establishing these return to play dates and progressing towards them.
It’s understandable that the last two dates could be altered by any number of government and health factors, but the hope is these domino dates fall as projected and Attack hockey is back at the Bayshore for Thanksgiving Weekend
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
