Phase 3 of the Bruce Road 25 (CAW Road) and Bruce Road 33 construction in south Port Elgin is set to begin on Tuesday, May 25th.
In a news release from Bruce County, it states “This capital infrastructure project will include the conversion of the rural road cross section to urban road standards and the installation of storm and sanitary sewers.
The project also includes the construction of a trail, which will separate pedestrians and cyclists from vehicular traffic.
Road closures will be in place for the majority of the construction project which could go until November of this year.
Detours will be set up and local landowners will have access to their properties.
The $5.2-million-dollar project is a joint effort between the county and Saugeen Shores.
The town is putting in just over $2.63-million-dollars while Bruce County will pay just over $2.61-million.
You may recall this phase of construction was to include a roundabout however that won’t be considered until the Phase 4 construction should the necessary lands be purchased.
The current Phase 3 work by Moorefield Excavating of Harriston, will now move forward with a “straight through” asphalt surface installation.
