A slight increase in Grey Bruce’s active Covid cases as the health unit reported six new cases on Friday and two now considered resolved.
The Health Unit also disclosed another Covid-related death in the region. Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says an older person with underlying illness passed away.
Seven Grey Bruce residents have died from the virus over the course of the pandemic.
The region’s active known case load is now up to 49, as new infections outpaced resolved cases. Three Grey Bruce residents are currently hospitalized.
Public Health says there are also five people from other health units transferred to local intensive care units in the area.
According to Public Health, two people from Southgate, two from Kincardine, and residents of Owen Sound and South Bruce Peninsula tested positive.
There are 128 active high-risk close contacts identified by Public Health.
On vaccination progress in Grey Bruce: 76,631 doses have been administered to date.
The testing and case counts data released by the health unit on Friday is reflective of a 24-hour period prior to 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
