Orillia OPP say someone has been going through vehicles in Oro-Medonte and stealing items such as credit cards.
There were three incidents in the last few days in the area of Line Seven and Ridge Road, and a total of 19 in the municipality since the beginning of the year.
In one recent case, a citizen confronted a person wearing a dark jacket and toque, and carrying two shopping bags.
The man responded he was looking for his dog and left the area.
A home security camera also captured images of a similarly dressed male checking the door handles of two parked vehicles.
Police urge residents to remove valuables from their vehicles when they’re not attended, and to make sure doors are locked and windows closed.
