The Roxy Summer Camp is being conducted at at Kelso Beach in July.
There’s 2 separate youth camps, one for Juniors and another for Seniors.
Lacey Mooney, the Roxy Youth Program Coordinator joined The Great Paul Hill on the CFOS Morning Show and provided an outline of what the camps entail.
The Junior Program for youngsters 8-12 years of age begins July 5th and runs to July 16th
Meanwhile the Senior Program will commence July 19th and conclude on July 30th
Roxy Youth Program Coordinator Lacey Mooney relates in normal years the camps are conducted at The Roxy Theatre in downtown Owen Sound.
However, for a variety of factors, primarily safety in the face of COVID-19, this year the camps will be outdoors at Kelso Bach Park and utilize the Amphitheatre Stage.
Mooney believes the outdoor atmosphere will heighten creativity and lead to additional fun for youngsters who have been occupied at length by screens for both education and socializing.
Directors Grace McRae and Maggie Alguire will teach music theatre basics at the camps which will culminate in a live performance on the final day of each camp.
