Have your say on what Huntsville’s parks, recreation, sports facilities, and programming should look like over the next 10 years.
The Town wants to know what arts, culture, and heritage facilities or services are important to you and your family and is seeking input from residents to assist in developing the Community Services Master Plan.
You can help shape the future by completing the survey at myhuntsville.ca before June 20th.
The development of the Community Services Master Plan is an objective of the Town’s current Strategic Plan and will outline priorities and goals for the Community Services Division in relation to the planning, budgeting, and delivery of services and their implementation. This includes services and town-owned facilities for the arts, culture, heritage, recreation, sports, aquatics, programming, as well as meeting and event space.
Through research and public input, the Master Plan will seek to examine these services and service levels to enhance the overall community quality of life, promote healthy living, and create a stronger sense of community.
“Community Services are integral to the well-being of our community, they provide opportunities for personal health and fitness, social connection, and economic opportunity,” says Simone Babineau, Director of Community Services for the Town of Huntsville. “While the pandemic has forced changes to our service levels at the Town of Huntsville, we are hopeful the importance of these services are top of mind.”
Residents can sign-up to stay informed on the project and engage in the online survey at myhuntsville.ca.
“We want to hear about where we can improve, what residents, sports associations, or businesses want to see for services or service levels,” says Simone. “This Master Plan will set the stage for the next ten years – so it’s very important that we hear from the community on what matters to them and their family.”
Public engagement activities will take place this spring and summer through surveys and stakeholder consultations.
Feedback from the survey will outline priorities to be brought forward to Council for review this fall with the final draft proposed in the Winter of 2021.
