Owen Sound police say a man faces several weapons related charges after uttering threats.
Police say on Friday (May 7th) they began an investigation involving death threats where they say the suspect was unlawfully in possession of a shotgun.
Police say the 55-year-old Owen Sound man was located and arrested on Saturday (May 8th) for uttering threats.
Later that day, uniformed members executed a search warrant on the man’s downtown residence, where police say they found concealed ammunition the man was prohibited from possessing. Police say the shotgun had been moved from the apartment before officers arrived but with help from the public it was located and turned over to police.
City police say the man made a court appearance on Sunday in relation to six charges including Uttering Threats, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Careless Storage of a Firearm.
He was placed on a Release Order and will make his next court appearance in June.
The 12-gauge shotgun and several rounds of shotgun ammunition remain in police custody.
