Farmers in Grey Bruce are part of the latest group to be eligible for a vaccination clinic this week in the area.
A clinic for eligible groups is being held at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine on Friday May 7th.
One is also being held on Saturday May 8th at the P&H Centre in Hanover.
Public Health says as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 6th, there are 1,000 vaccination spaces available for the May 7th vaccination clinic at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The Health Unit says you must register for an appointment. Walk-ins are not accepted.
Meanwhile, another clinic is being held for certain groups including immunocrompromised people and pregnant women at the Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre in Owen Sound today (May 6th).
Friday May 7th, Public Health Grey Bruce will vaccinate more First Nation people. There is also a mass clinic at the Davidson Centre Vaccination Hub in Kincardine for eligible people including those listed below.
Saturday, May 8th there is a Grey Bruce mobile clinic for those needing chronic homecare or are homebound as well as a mass clinic at the P&H Centre in Hanover for those listed below.
Eligible People:
Anyone previously eligible who has not gotten their first dose of vaccine yet,
Chronic home care recipients, healthcare workers, those living or working in high-risk congregate settings, those with highest and high risk chronic conditions and certain caregivers, those 50 and older in 2021 and the first group of essential workers who cannot work from home.
That first group of essential workers includes the following:
Agriculture and farm workers,
Funeral, crematorium and cemetery workers,
School, school bus and childcare workers,
Food manufacturing and distribution workers,
Foster care agency workers,
Enforcement and inspectors (bylaw, building inspectors, food inspectors, animal welfare, border, labour / WSIB inspectors)
Police, fire, special constables, children’s aid, emergency management, critical infrastructure restoration workers

As of this afternoon, there have been reports of issues with Provincial system not showing the local clinics. There has not been any reported issue with booking through the local system set up by Public Health Grey Bruce.

Meanwhile, select Pharmacies and primary care settings in Grey Bruce are also booking apointments for AstraZeneca vaccines for those aged 40 and older in 2021. The Health Unit says primary care providers will contact those who are eligible.
