Public Health Grey Bruce says two new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Monday in Grey Bruce.
The Health Unit says the case count reflects recorded cases in the 24 hour period ending 23:59 April 26th.
Both of the region’s new cases are in Southgate.
With 19 more resolved cases, there are 77 active cases in the region, including 25 variants.
Public Health says there are 336 high risk contacts associated with the region’s cases.
Four people are hospitalized in Grey Bruce due to COVID-19 and one resident is hospitalized outside the region. Five people who have been transferred from outside the region are being treated in local Intensive Care Units.
Over the course of the pandemic, there have been five deaths linked to Grey Bruce.
There are no reported outbreaks in hospitals, long-term care homes, retirement homes or schools in Grey Bruce. Queen of Hearts Childcare centre is still under outbreak status.
3510 doses of vaccine were received this week.
54, 636 total doses have been administered locally to date.
Grey Bruce is part of the provincewide emergency shutdown effective Saturday April 3, 2021 and enhanced measures on April 17th, 2021. The government intends to keep this shutdown in place until at least May 19, 2021.
