“Nomadland” is the big winner at the the 93rd annual Academy Awards.
It won Best Picture at the socially-distanced ceremony last night, along with Best Actress for Frances McDormand and Best Director for Chloe Zhao, who became the first Asian woman and woman of colour to win the award. She is only the second woman to ever win the Best Director award.
One of the biggest surprises was for Best Actor award, which went to Anthony Hopkins for his performance in the dementia drama “The Father”, beating Chadwick Boseman for his final performance in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”
Soul won best animated feature.
