Former Owen Sound Attack forward Andrew Shaw has announced his retirement from the NHL at the age of 29. He made the statement in a video, saying his doctors recommend he stops playing due to the number of concussions he’s suffered.
Shaw won two Stanley Cups with Chicago in 2013 and 2015. He played for the Montreal Canadiens from 2016 to 2019, then was traded back to Chicago in 2019.
He was a member of the 2011 OHL Championship Attack team, spending his final year of junior hockey in Owen Sound before being drafted by Chicago.
“Thank you for giving a Mutt a home.”
