The OPP says three suspected impaired drivers have been taken off the roads, after separate incidents over the weekend in Tay and Tiny Townships.
On Saturday morning, police were called about a man asleep at the wheel of a vehicle which was in the middle of Sturgeon Bay Road in Tay Township.
After speaking with the driver, a 30 year old Midland man was charged.
- Briar Steven CASCANETTE has been charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and further with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Then on Sunday night, police were called about a vehicle in the ditch at the end of Timberland Court in Tiny, where two people were located.
The OPP say one of the men had tried to switch places with the driver of the vehicle, but both of them were impaired and taken into custody.
- Denis BRUNELLE 56 years of Penetanguishene has been charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and further with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
- Serge RUDENKO 47 years of Etobicoke has been charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and further with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
All three accused persons have been released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 6, 2021 in Midland. The involved vehicles were towed and impounded for 7 days and the accused’s driver’s licences has been further suspended for 90 days under the conditions of the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) .
