School boards in Huron and Perth counties are receiving more funding for the province, for measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The province announced the Avon Maitland District School Board would receive $2,974,509 in funding, while the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board would receive $1.7 million.
The funding follows a similar announcement in February, where millions was doled out to the province’s school boards for COVID-19 supports.
The AMDSB also received $650 thousand last August to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), cleaning supplies, health and safety training, and accommodations for students with special needs.
Projects qualifying for the latest funding include HVAC renovations to improve air quality, installing water bottle refilling stations to improve access to safe drinking water, and space reconfigurations such as new walls and doors to enhance physical distancing.
