Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada has a new agreement for 8 million more doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
Trudeau says the new deal will see 4 million doses arrive in May, with the next 2 million in June and then a final 2 million doses arriving in July, resulting in double the doses of Pfizer Vaccines that were initially expected by then.
“All told, we’ll be receiving 8 million doses in May and almost 12 million in June from Pfizer alone,” he said. “Now that’s a lot of numbers so here’s the bottom line: More doses arriving sooner means more people getting their vaccines faster. And that means more people who are safer and more families that can breathe a sigh of relief.”
Trudeau thanked everyone at Pfizer for keeping deliveries on schedule and for moving up more doses with the new agreements.
