The Ontario Lacrosse Association Board of Directors meeting scheduled for last night was cancelled.
The Directors were expected to render a decision on the pending shift of the Brampton Excelsiors Major franchise to Owen Sound, a shuffle that has been opposed, delayed and appealed at various points since November.
Sources connected to the O.L.A. Board say the cancellation was not connected to the Brampton-Owen Sound issue, but rather was based on a variety of factors the Board of Directors are dealing with.
While unconfirmed, the source understands the Board of Directors are scheduled to meet again this coming Wednesday.
Meanwhile tonight the Major Series Council is scheduled to meet.
The Council will formulating a ” Plan of Action ” pertaining to the 2021 season which may be in jeopardy based on the ongoing global pandemic
The Brampton-Owen Sound transfer, which has the approval of Major Series Lacrosse, may also be a topic of discussion tonight, but the ultimate decision in that dispute lies with the Board of Directors.
