The first of three virtual public consultations is being held today on the locations of supervised consumption sites in Barrie.
They provide a safer and clean space for people to use their own drugs under the care of nursing and other staff.
The proposed locations are:
110 Dunlop St. W., Unit 4
11 Sophia St. W.
19 Innisfil St.
192 Bradford St.
The Canadian Mental Health Association Simcoe County Branch and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit would like feedback on how the proposed sites can best meet the needs of the clients using the services and the surrounding community.
However, concerns or comments about supervised consumption sites in general will not be addressed during these sessions.
The virtual sessions are scheduled for:
Wednesday, April 14: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 15: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Monday, April 19: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
