Public Health Grey Bruce reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.
Six residents of Blue Mountains tested positive, four in Owen Sound, three in Huron Kinloss and one each in West Grey, South Bruce Peninsula, Kincardine, Hanover and Arran Elderslie.
With four resolved cases there are 72 active cases in the region including 18 variants.
One case was referred to another health unit, and three cases were referred from other health units.
Public Health says there are 352 high-risk contacts associated with the region’s active cases.
One person is hospitalized locally due to the virus and one local person is hospitalized outside the region.
Over the course of the pandemic, four residents of Grey Bruce have died from the virus.
The Health Unit says there are no outbreaks in schools, childcare centres, retirement homes or long-term care homes in the region. The outbreak at the hospital in Owen Sound has been declared over.
36,028 total doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Grey and Bruce to date.
This week’s vaccine shipment was 5980 doses.
