Today is the suggested day to try again to book your vaccine appointment if you’re 70 and older in Grey Bruce, but the system is having issues.
Public Health says it is aware of the problem, and notes as of 11a.m. Thursday morning, there were about 4,800 spots available for Saturday and for next week, but the Province’s system wasn’t showing those spots.
The Health Unit says the Province is working on fixing the issue and those trying to book an appointment should try again this afternoon, though they may fill up quickly.
At 2 this afternoon, it was announced the system was running again for the Hanover, Kincardine and Owen Sound clinics, though residents have since reported having trouble.
About 5,850 new doses of vaccine are coming into Grey Bruce every week. According to Public Health, that number is based on a Provincial formula based on population.
Public Health has noted to Bayshore broadcasting News, if you’re being told you can’t book until June, that’s the system pushing ahead to second doses.
If you cannot get an appointment this week, more will become available with each weekly shipment of vaccine.
