Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

The Major League Baseball season begins today and with it comes both optimism and doubt as it pertains to the Toronto Blue Jays.
As the Jays face the Yankees in the season opener, the belief is that an emerging young core can produce runs, a lot of runs, on a daily basis.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio all give the impression of professions on the upswing both individually and from a team standpoint.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a fabulous Spring and the belief is that he will rise to the level anticipated when he finally arrived some years ago.
And what of prized off season acquisitions George Springer and Marcus Semien ? They could be great, yet as the season commences there are lingering concerns with both players.
The biggest question mark for the Blue Jays is pitching.
Hyun Jin Ryu, a.k.a. ” The Monster ” is firmly established as the ace among the starters.
After that….well it’s a bit of a grab bag with some over riding health concerns
In times of sports uncertainties, I always seek out my good friend Bob The Bookie.
Bob thinks the Blue Jays are a playoff team but not a division winner.
He’s got them listed at + 1600 which isn’t bad considering only 6 teams, the Dodgers, Yankees, Padres, White Sox, Braves & Mets, are listed higher on Bob’s Big Board.
The 2021 Major League Baseball season begins today with the Jays & Yankees and all kinds of question marks.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace
