The Wasaga Beach Fire Department has moved the fire danger rating from high to moderate.
With the early spring weather, yard work is on everyone’s mind, but the Municipal Law Enforcement Department would like to remind residents that as part of the Open Fire by-law #2007-64, leaves and other yard waste are not permitted to be burned.
Additionally, fires are only permitted during certain times and must be enclosed in a burning device (ie. a chiminea) with only dry seasoned firewood.
Anyone disobeying the rules could be subject to fines up to $615.00.
