A speeding vehicle in Wasaga Beach has led to impaired driving charges.
The OPP say a vehicle was caught travelling more than 1 ½ times the legal limit on Highway 26 late last night and when it was stopped, the officer also entered into an impaired driving investigation.
As a result, police say Amanda-Lee Lemay-Scribner, 21 years old of New Lowell, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
• Operation While Impaired – contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Race a Motor Vehicle – Stunt Driving – contrary to Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
• Fail to Surrender Insurance Card – contrary to Section 3(1) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on May 4, 2021.
