Kincardine building statistics took a bit of a hit in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kincardine’s Director of Building and Planning Michele Barr says 261 permits were issued in 2020, worth just over 34.8-million-dollars.
In 2019, the same numbers were 319 permits valued at just over 58.3-million.
In 2020, 77 new residential units were begun, made up primarily of new single family dwellings and multi-unit residential.
In 2019, permits were issued for 121 residential units.
In her report to Kincardine council on March 15th, it’s suggested 2021 is showing signs of a positive recovery.
To the end of February this year, Kincardine has registered 32 permits with a value of just over 5.7-million-dollars.
In the same time frame last year, only 15 permits were on the books with a value of almost 1.2-million-dollars.
