Conservation officials say they have seen a dramatic rise in visits to conservation areas during the pandemic, including unauthorized visits.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority says the two biggest unauthorized uses of ABCA properties are off-road vehicles and dogs off leash.
The past year has also seen an increase in litter and garbage, according to the ABCA.
In 2020, the ABCA hired Municipal Enforcement Unit (MEU) to educate visitors about the rules of conservation areas, and enforce local mandates.
