Grey Bruce OPP are investigating a fail to remain collision between a car and a cyclist near Colpoy’s Bay that resulted in the cyclist being airlifted with serious injuries.
Police say it happened at about 9 Wednesday night (March 10) on Rouse Road, near Bruce Road 9.
Police say the cyclist was riding a bicycle on Rouse Road when they were struck by a car.
According to police, the car did not stop and offer help or wait for police to arrive at the scene. They say the car fled the area and has not been located.
OPP say the car will have damage to the front right passenger side corner. Pieces of fender, undercarriage and lights were located at the accident scene. A headlight assembly was also located and should be attached to a white 2017-2018 Hyundai Elantra, (similar to the above photo).
The injured cyclist was airlifted to a regional hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Grey Bruce OPP are asking for the community’s help in locating the involved driver and vehicle.
