OHL GMs Conference Call
The Ontario Hockey League has a Conference call with their General Managers today
The Conference Call is scheduled for 1 pm
The anticipation is the meeting will be fairly short and the belief is there’s been a positive upswing in terms of conducting a partial season.
A recent report suggested there would be 4 Hub Centres and a 24 game schedule implemented to begin in early April.
The meeting today is 1 month in advance of the reports’ suggested start date of April 2nd and comes almost a full year after having the operation was shut down by the coronavirus pandemic
The OHL was shutdown on March 12th of last year and there has been no game activity since.
In addition to the previous report, there have been whispers the 4 Hub centres will have to be in locations where there is an adjacent rink to the main facility.
There are almost a half dozen centres that have such a venue; Kitchener, Mississauga, Oshawa, Sarnia and Windsor.
Two of those centres though, Mississauga & Windsor have been hot spots for COVID-19.
There have also been suggestions that the schedule will be 20 games in length and will not feature a league playoff nor a Memorial Cup championship.
