Three teens are facing charges, after a fight between students at a skatepark near Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School in Angus.
Police say the dispute began around 10 o’clock Friday morning, with reports that there may be a firearm and knife involved.
Officers immediately arrived, and put the school into a hold and secure while they investigated.
One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police seized a knife and BB air gun.
As a result of the investigation, three young persons have been charged:
A 17-year-old male, of Angus, Essa Township has been charged with one count of assault, contrary to s.266 of the Criminal Code of Canada (C.C).
A 16-year-old male, of Angus, Essa Township has been charged with:
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, contrary to s. 88 C.C.- two counts;
Assault with a Weapon, contrary to s. 266(a) C.C.- two counts;
Pointing a Firearm, contrary to s.87 C.C.; and
Carry Concealed Prohibited Device or Ammunition, contrary to s.90 C.C
A 17-year-old male, of Angus, Essa Township has been charged with:
Assault, contrary to s. 266 C.C.;
Assault with a Weapon, contrary to s. 267(a) C.C; and
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, contrary to s. 88 C.C.
The accused youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie in April 2021.
