The following information was submitted by the West Grey Police Service:
During the week of February 18 to February 25, 2021, the West Grey Police Service responded to 79 total calls for service.
Officers responded to four motor vehicle collisions, 11 police assistance and and five suspicious person reports. Police also provided assistance to other emergency services on five occasions.
Uniform and Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate a commercial break and enter that occurred in Bentinck Township, West Grey during this week.
On February 21, a 23-year-old male from West Grey was arrested and charged with theft under $5000, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and resist arrest. This is the fifth time police have arrested the individual in recent weeks. The accused in currently remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.
On February 22, a 29-year-old male from Walkerton was arrested and charged with impaired driving. The male had his vehicle impounded for seven days, his driver’s license suspended for 90 days and was later released on an undertaking to appear in Walkerton court.
On February 23, a 30-year-old male from West Grey was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with the conditions of a previous release order. The male was later released and will appear in Walkerton Court.
West Grey Police responded to two Covid-19 related calls for service the past week.
