Three people have been arrested after a car was ditched on Highway 11 in Severn township.
Police say shortly before midnight on Wednesday, they were notified about a vehicle in the ditch on the highway near McClelland Road.
When officers arrived, they saw a man attempting to flee from the scene through deep snow, who was refusing to stop.
They located two different suspects at a residence nearby, who were taken into custody.
A short time later, police received a phone call reporting a suspicious man in the same area, who was quickly located and also arrested.
As a result, Brendon Blanchard, age 20, and Ryan Prihoda, age 25, both from New Tecumseth, have been charged with Trespassing at Night and released on Form 9 Appearance Notices with a court date of May 04, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
The third suspect, Roy McMullen age 29, of New Tecumseth, has been charged with:
- Trespassing at night
- Obstruct peace officer
- Failure to comply with release order
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is set to appear next on March 04, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.
