The Grey Bruce Health Unit says it has been notified of a death related to COVID-19. The individual, a female resident of Grey Bruce in her 70’s died Wednesday afternoon. She had been in isolation in hospital.
Medical Officer of Health Dr Ian Arra says, “I offer my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the woman who passed away. Unfortunately, the news of this second death only highlights the need for everyone to take this virus very seriously. It requires our collective actions to stem the spread of this virus. Please, stay at home and stay safe.” Stated Dr. Ian Arra, Medical Officer of Health.”
Two new Covid cases and two recoveries were reported by the Grey Bruce Health Unit on Wednesday.
According to Public Health, two Owen Sound residents tested positive.
There are 15 active known cases in the region.
Public Health says there are no outbreaks at any long-term care or retirement homes, or any schools or childcare centres in Grey Bruce.
On vaccination progress: 3,855 doses have been administered in Grey Bruce to date.
The testing and case counts data released by the health unit on Wednesday is reflective of a 24-hour period prior to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
