More than a dozen arsons are under investigation in Orillia.
The OPP say at least 16 small arsons have taken place since last fall in the area of Scout Valley.
The most recent blaze was set on Saturday to a tree, which was smoking but not fully engulfed at the popular hiking destination.
Police believe all of the suspicious fires have been intentionally set and in this case, the tree had to be cut down to be extinguished in order to ensure that the fire would not spread.
