The OPP has started its investigation into a violent arrest in Barrie, which was caught on video and quickly shared on social media.
It is asking any witnesses to the incident to call 1-888-310-1122.
On February 4th, a 20 year old man was arrested while skateboarding in downtown Barrie and the method that was used to take him into custody was described by onlookers as excessive force.
The officer captured on video making the arrest has been reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation, which is expected to take about six months.
The accused was charged with causing a disturbance and assault with an attempt to resist arrest.
