Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

One of the aspects that I miss in this season without Ontario Hockey League action is the elevating moments; the goals, the saves, the really great plays that make you go, ” Wow “, or ” WOW !!! ”
What does remain are the memories and connections to players who have graduated from the OHL and now compete on the biggest stage, the National Hockey League.
For example, Maksim Sushko made his NHL debut with the Philadelphia Flyers last night.
Maks played 3 seasons in Owen Sound for the Attack scoring 67 times along with a memorable playoff overtime winner at Sault Ste Marie just 2 years ago
Of course as fast as Maksim made it to an NHL game, he wasn’t nearly as fast as Connor McDavid.
McDavid, the captain of the Edmonton Oilers bypassed the 500 career point mark this week, and has been a star from the get-go.
It doesn’t seem that long ago though that I first saw McDavid play for the Erie Otters against the Attack and it was apparent quickly he was something very special
There’s no OHL, yet, & there’s a possibility we may not see games this season. However, in the interim through Maksim Sushko and Connor McDavid illustrate two excellent moments from days gone by.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace
