West Grey says the municipality continues a stretch of growth with improved building project numbers for the second consecutive year.
In 2020, builders and contractors applied for more permits and the value of those permits was up by $1.5 million.
The value of projects in West Grey for 2018 was $30.7 million and in 2019 project values spiked to $39.9 million.
This past year of 2020, 299 permits were issued for a total value of $41.4 million.
West Grey’s chief building official, Karl Schipprack, says despite challenges for contractors dealing with supply line disruptions, navigating enhanced safety guidelines and other realities of operating under a pandemic, construction activity in the fall was very busy and more is expected into the spring and summer of 2021.
Much of the growth can be attributed to building new homes.
