The OPP has released the name of the victim and the accused in a homicide investigation in Ramara.
Police were called to a home on Monck Road just north of Orillia on Saturday night, when officers located two victims inside.
Police say a woman identified as 47 year old Wendy Lahay was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second victim, a man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, 30 year old Michael Lahay was arrested at the scene and has been charged with one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Attempt to Commit Murder.
The accused has been remanded into custody and will appear on February 16, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.
Residents in the area should expect to see an increased police presence in the coming days as the investigation unfolds.
