An Owen Sound man faces impaired driving charges for a second time in as many months.
Police arrested the 42 year old man after a concerned driver reported him for driving erratically throughout the streets on the city’s east side.
Officers responded to the call at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
They say they found the 2010 Dodge pickup in the 500 block of 7th Avenue East, but the driver continued for several blocks before finally coming to a safe stop for police.
According to police, it was immediately evident the driver was not fit to operate a vehicle at which time he was taken into custody for impaired operation.
Police say the same driver had been arrested in December 2020 as well for impaired operation, again while driving in the city of Owen Sound. His licence was already under suspension. Police say, it was determined by a Drug Recognition Officer after an assessment was completed, that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by the concentration of drugs in his body.
He has a court date later this month.
