Four new Covid cases and two recoveries were reported by the Grey Bruce Health Unit on Thursday.
According to Public Health, two people from West Grey, as well as residents of South Bruce and Southgate tested positive.
The active known case load in the region increased slightly to 18, as new infections outpaced recoveries. The health unit also disclosed one previous confirmed case as a false positive.
One person from the area is currently hospitalized. There has been one death in Grey Bruce due to Covid.
The testing and case counts data released by the health unit on Thursday is reflective of a 24-hour period prior to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.
Public Health says there are no outbreaks at any long-term care or retirement homes, or any schools or childcare centres in Grey Bruce.
However, the health unit says it is working with a private school in Durham — Ethnos Academy — to address a case associated with it.
“While there is an individual with Covid associated with this school, our assessment, to date, indicates there is no evidence transmission took place with the school environment,” a release from Public Health explains.
On vaccination progress, no change from Wednesday: 1,500 doses have been administered in Grey Bruce to date.
