Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

This scenario is like many in the what-do-you-do or what’s next ? life that we’re living in, or maybe being held hostage in.
Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team staged a Training Camp in Calgary recently.
A total of 47 players were invited.
That group featured 5 goaltenders including Saugeen Maitland Lightning alumni Shea Tiley.
Tiley admitted her first touches felt a little weird, which is understandable based on the fact she hadn’t played in anything resembling a game since last March when she was in Sweden.
If anything, a hockey goalie needs shot repetition and at least drill action in order to remain sharp and be able to read the play.
When asked how she fared in the group of 5 candidates at the camp, Shea Tiley had no answer, no gauge really, other than to say she was very satisfied with her performance at the camp and she wasn’t about to get caught up in or focus on what any of the other netminders were doing.
Put simply, it was out her control.
Which is exactly the situation facing everyone with Hockey Canada’s Women’s team.
The World Women’s Championship Tournament is scheduled to be hosted in Nova Scotia beginning April 7th.
Today is February 9th, which means the scheduled tournament opener is less than 60 days away .
Will there be a 2021 World Women’s Hockey Tournament ? Shea Tiley doesn’t know.
If there IS a World Women’s Hockey Tournament, will Shea Tiley being playing goal for Canada ? Again, she doesn’t know but Shea Tiley certainly hopes so.
