Public Health reported one new case of COVID-19 in Grey Bruce Sunday (Feb 7th).
A resident of Kincardine tested positive.
Case counts reflect the 24 hour period leading up to 11:59 p.m. Saturday (Feb 6th)
With seven more resolved cases, there are 22 confirmed active cases in the region and five active probable cases. Probable cases are not lab confirmed, but are symptomatic and are high-risk contacts of an active case.
One local person is hospitalized and there has been one death in Grey Bruce over the course of the pandemic.
The Health Unit says there are no outbreaks in schools, childcare centres, retirement homes, or long-term care homes in Grey Bruce.
On Saturday, Public Health reported a case associated with Highpoint Community School in Dundalk and the Kids Club Before and After School program there as well as a bus route. The Health Unit says its assessment finds the case was not contracted in the school, childcare or bus environment. The Health Unit says it has contacted those who need to be contacted.
Public Health has administered 970 vaccines in Grey Bruce to date, That’s 170 more than last week.
According to Grey County, the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine arrived at Grey Gables Long-Term Care Home on Saturday, February 6th and Lee Manor Long-Term Care Home on Sunday, February 7th for all residents who consented.
Grey County says the Public Health team led both vaccination clinics with assistance from County clinical teams, and administered 67 doses of the Moderna vaccine to Grey Gables residents. The County says Lee Manor was fortunate to have received a small vaccine shipment on January 28th where 22 residents on the 1st floor were vaccinated and the remaining 123 residents were vaccinated this past weekend.
