Public Health Grey Bruce reported one new case of COVID-19 Saturday.
A resident of Southgate tested positive.
Saturday’s report reflects testing and case counts reported as of 11:59 February 5th.
With four resolved cases, the Health Unit says there are 29 confirmed active cases in the region with 91 active high-risk contacts.
Public Health says there are three active probable cases. Probable cases are not lab confirmed, but are symptomatic and are high-risk contacts of an active case.
According to the Health Unit, one person is hospitalized due to the virus, and there has been one COVID-19 related death in the region over the course of the pandemic.
800 doses of vaccine have been administered in Grey Bruce to date.
The Health Unit says there are no declared outbreaks in long-term care homes, retirement homes, schools or childcare centres in Grey Bruce.

Meanwhile, the Health Unit is working with the Bluewater District School Board to address a probable case of COVID-19 associated with Highpoint Community School, in Dundalk. They say a probable case is defined as direct link with a positive case, symptomatic and has not yet been tested.
Public Health says, while there is an individual with probable COVID-19 associated with this school, their assessment to date, indicates that transmission did not take place within the school environment.They say no bus routes were involved with the case.
The Health Unit also notes, all individuals who need to be notified have already been contacted.
Public Health is also reporting a COVID-19 case associated with a childcare centre. They say the Grey Bruce Health Unit is working with Kids Club Before and After school childcare program in Highpoint School in Dundalk to address a probable case of COVID-19 associated with a cohort at the centre.
The Health Unit says there is no evidence of transmission within the childcare centre environment. They say, all individuals that need to be notified have already been contacted.
