You can still celebrate the winter season in the city of barrie.
In lieu of traditional Winterfest and Family Day activities, the City is presenting Hello Winter – a month of fun, engaging and safe programming to help residents enjoy the winter season safely with their immediate household.
Virtual activities will feature nature-based adventures, how-to videos, behind-the-scenes tours, and performances with the Barrie Public Library, MacLaren Art Centre, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, Speaking of Wildlife, children’s performance group TEAM T&J and more. Activities will be added online throughout the month.
As part of Hello Winter, the City is also hosting an online Community Snow Sculpture Challenge, where residents are invited to build creative snow creations and submit pictures to an online map to share with the community.
For outdoor exercise, the City’s parks, trails and outdoor rinks remain open. If choosing to visit these places, the City reminds residents to follow all posted health and safety guidelines.
