Local police services were out on the snowmobile trails this past weekend in an effort to make sure snowmobilers were using them safely.
Owen Sound police say they conducted a RIDE check on the B Trail on the eastern edge of the city limits.
Officers were looking for impairment and proper documentation required to operate snowmobiles.
They say a total of 70 vehicles were stopped.
They say Provincial Offences Notices were issued for charges related to not having a trail permit and not having insurance information on hand.
They say no snowmobile operators were found to be impaired by alcohol or drugs.
West Grey Police also conducted RIDE checks on 50 snowmobiles this weekend. They say they also checked for proper documentation.
