Public Health Grey Bruce is reporting two new cases of COVID-19.
During the 24 hour period ending at 11:59 Friday, January 29th, two new cases were confirmed in the Town of The Blue Mountains for a total of 30 confirmed active cases in the Grey Bruce region and four more resolved cases.
There has now been one COVID-19 related death in Grey Bruce, a man in his 60s who had been hospitalized since early January. He passed away Saturday (Jan 30th).
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra says, “I offer my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the gentleman who passed away. Unfortunately, the news of this death only highlights the need for everyone to take this virus very seriously. It requires our collective actions to stem the spread of this virus. Please, stay at home and stay safe.”
Two people are hospitalized due to the virus in Grey Bruce.
Public Health has reported there are no outbreaks in schools, childcare centres or long-term care homes in Grey Bruce.
