With the lockdown extension announced by the Ontario Government, we are unable to provide an update on the possibility of a second season until more information in relation to restrictions by the province and our Public Health Unit is available. Hopefully we’ll learn more in early February.
Recently the OHF had a Teams meetings with all of it’s member associations at which they provided some updates on what the next season could possibly look like. Although everything is dependant on the status of the pandemic, there will definitely be no spring tryouts for the 2021-22 season. If conditions permit, it is hoped to have them start in early September. In addition, the format of the playoffs would change to a tournament style to allow for a longer regular season for all teams.
We will provide more information about our current season when it becomes available. Stay safe and let’s continue to do our part at minimizing the spread of Covid-19.
