The OPP is investigating a number of vehicle break-ins near entrances to hiking trails in The Blue Mountains.
Police say the suspect(s) gained access to the vehicle by smashing a window and made off with purses and wallets with cash, I.D. and credit cards inside.
The investigation is ongoing, however the OPP says this serves as a good reminder about crime prevention tips from the Lock it or Lose it initiative. This includes not only locking your vehicle doors but adding that extra layer of prevention by removing any valuable items from plain view and moving them to the trunk/cargo area or locked glove box/storage or better yet, leave all those items at home.
