Owen Sound Firefighters are thanking the community for making their annual toy drive a success.
Firefighters say, in partnership with the Salvation Army and supported by the Owen Sound Rotary Club, they packed over 500 bags of new toys for youth in the city of Owen Sound.
Firefighter and Toy Drive Coordinator Greg Nicol says in a statement, “We are so grateful for the strong annual support for the toy drive,” adding, “The outpouring of donations from the community was very much appreciated to make the toy drive a success.”
They’re also thanking Keystone Child and Family Services for providing space to house the toys as well as Barry’s Construction, City Council and Fire Chief Doug Barfoot for their continued support of the tradition.
They say, “Finally, thank you to the Salvation Army for their hard work in distributing the bags of gifts to families in our community. It was a very Merry Christmas and successful toy drive.”
