The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported 112 new COVID-19 cases today, along with seven more deaths related to the virus—all residents of Roberta Place long-term care home in Barrie.
So far, 25 residents have died at the facility since the outbreak was declared by the health unit on January 8th.
It has since confirmed a COVID-19 variant is to blame, even though we don’t know which strain just yet until test results come back in a couple of days.
The new cases reported today include:

Oro-Medonte 1
Springwater 2
Severn 1
Midland 1
Tay 1
Innisfil 10
Essa 3
Adjala-Tosorontio 2
New Tecumseth 7
Bradford 16
